Affiliate Disclosure
What that means, in plain English
When you click an Amazon link on our site and make a purchase, Amazon pays us a small commission at no extra cost to you. That commission is what keeps the site running — it covers hosting, product testing, writer fees, and everything in between.
How commission works
- Our Amazon Associate tracking ID is
trustedhea05b-20. It's appended to every outbound Amazon link on this site. - Commission rates vary by product category and are set by Amazon — we don't negotiate them. They range from roughly 1% to 10% of the sale price depending on the category.
- You don't pay more because of the affiliate link. The commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your total.
- You don't have to buy the specific product you clicked. If you click our link and buy a different product within Amazon's tracking window, we still earn commission on the sale. This is how Amazon's program works, not something specific to us.
Why commission doesn't influence our rankings
Amazon's commission rates are set per-category (e.g., "supplements" or "grocery"), not per-brand. Two magnesium supplements in the same Amazon category earn us the same commission rate, regardless of which brand it is. Ranking Product A above Product B doesn't earn us more money than the reverse — so our rubric-based scoring isn't commercially distorted.
We don't accept brand payments. We don't do "sponsored reviews." We don't do "pay to be included" placement. Those models create conflicts of interest that our affiliate-only model doesn't.
What we link to
Every "Check on Amazon" button on our site is an affiliate link. Text links to Amazon in article bodies are also affiliate links. Links to third parties that aren't Amazon (e.g., PubMed, manufacturer websites, consumer-protection resources) are not affiliate links — they're editorial references only.
FTC compliance
US FTC guidance requires affiliate relationships to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. We display an affiliate disclosure above every review where affiliate links appear, and we maintain this page as a permanent, linked reference. Our Amazon Associate status is also disclosed in the site footer on every page.
